Meet the Artist

Here's some rambling because I hate talking about myself and don't really know how to write. My name is Devan Elizabeth and I'm the one behind everything you see here. I'm an independent custom bench jeweler and jewelry designer based in Columbus, Ohio.  Some of my interests are music festivals, my pup, travelling, true crime, and crochet.

I also have a passion for gems and minerals. I've put myself through most of the GIA colored stones courses, along with receiving my Graduate Diamonds diploma. I've taken advanced stone setting classes to push my jewelry game further, if there's something to learn I want to learn it.

I started wire-wrapping with sterling silver and rough gems in 2015, by 2018 I started fabricating jewelry thanks to some insanely talented and wonderful people I’ve had the privilege to meet, have in my life, and show me the ropes. It happened fast and I fell in love with the art form. And even though it’s been several years now, I still feel like I don’t know a fraction of all there is to explore in the jewelry world.

Then one day I made a crochet hook. Some backstory: My mom taught me crochet when I was a little girl. I remember making some simple scarves and rags, but life went on and I had all but forgot about it. I didn't pick it back up until around 2020, I was already deep in making jewelry so that made what came next a no-brainer.

I made my first jeweled crochet hook in 2021. It was a Size G hook I fabricated from sterling silver rod, set 5 amethysts down the handle, and within 24 hours I was sending it off to Iceland. Since then, my jeweled crochet hooks have landed all over the world, from Mexico to Germany to Australia and beyond.   The crochet community is so broad and supportive and has helped me get my work out into the world in a way I never thought possible.

My goal is to leave a memorable piece of my heart behind when my time is up on this planet, and I'm so grateful for this community for making that dream possible.
